dc.description.abstractA descriptive cross sectional study was conducted to study the relationship between maternal educational level and birth weight of babies born at Teaching Hospital Kandy. It was done for a period of one year ( 1st September 2001-31st August 2002). An interviewer administered questionnaire was used to collect the data. Birth weight increases with maternal age. Birth weight was affected by maternal race
