dc.description.abstract | A cross sectional study was carried out using 459 pregnant women in their second trimester during the study period, An interviewer administrated questionnaire was used to collect the information on socio-demographic data, perceived oral health status and the Pattern of utilization of health care facilities. A clinical examination was done to assess the normative needs. The study was carried out in antenatal clinics in the Divulapitiya MOH area. Subjects over 27 years of age had a significantly higher caries experience than subjects 27 years. The mean DMFT was significantly higher in those educated up to GCE/OL compared to those who had higher qualifications. Caries experience differed significantly in the different income groups . Educational and income levels were significantly ( p0.05) associated with the periodontal status of the study population, but There was no significant ( p0.05) association between periodontal status and age | - |
